The Shreveport Film & Music Festival welcomes filmmakers from around the world to share their stories. We accept features, shorts, documentaries, and student films across all genres.

 

Film Submission Rules

Key Dates

  • Submission Deadline: May 15, 2026
  • Notifications Sent: July 15, 2026
  • Festival Dates: September 3–6, 2026

 Film Requirements

  • Feature-Length Film – Runtime of 60 minutes or longer.
  • Short Film – Runtime of under 40 minutes.
  • Documentary – Short or feature-length, nonfiction storytelling.
  • Student Film – Runtime of 5 to 15 minutes


    Screening Formats

  • Accepted formats: Digital file (MP4, MOV, or DCP).
  • If selected, filmmakers must provide a high-resolution screening copy by August 1, 2026.

Deadlines & Fees:

  • Early Bird – Jan 15, 2026
  • Regular – Mar 15, 2026
  • Late – Apr 15, 2026
  • Final – May 15, 2026

Submission fees vary by category and deadline.


Submission
Guidelines

  • Films must be original works and filmmakers must control the exhibition rights.
  • Provide a secure online screener link (YouTube private, Vimeo with password, or FilmFreeway link).
  • Press kits (synopsis, logline, stills, filmmaker bio) are required upon acceptance.
  • Selected filmmakers must provide a high-quality digital screening copy.
  • Attendance is encouraged for Q&As and networking events, but not required.
  • Premiere status is preferred but not required.
  • Multiple entries are allowed, but each film must be submitted separately with its own entry fee.

Student Category Guidelines

1. Film must be original student work created between 2024 through 2026

2. Age Range: All filmmakers must be ages 9–16 at the time of production.

3. All Non English dialogue must include English subtitles.

4. Each student submission must include:

  • Number of Participants: No limit on group size (teams, classes, or clubs may submit together).
  • Title, runtime, year of production: Runtime: 5–15 minutes (including credits).
  • Student filmmaker(s) names and ages.
  • School or program name (if applicable).
  • Parent/guardian or teacher contact information.

5. A press kit (short synopsis, logline, and one still image) required upon acceptance.

6. Theme: Films must explore the topic of bullying — stories may be dramatic, documentary, or creative interpretations.

7. Films must be submitted by May 15, 2026.

8. Submission Fee: $25 (non-refundable).

9. Can use IPhone.

Awards for Student Films

  • Best Student Film – Ages 9–12
  • Best Student Film – Ages 13–16
  • Audience Choice Award – Student Film

Winning films will be screened during the festival and honored at the Closing Night Awards Ceremony.
